As for older MT4 versions

Metaquotes the provider of the popular Meta Trader 4 platform has announced that MT4 desktop terminal builds below 1118 and MT 4 Android terminals below 1104 will no longer be supported and will be unable to connect to broker’s trading servers after March 1, 2019.

A system of automatic updates is built into the terminal. It allows to get informed about and install new versions of the program promptly. This system is always enabled. The terminal checks for new versions of the program when it connects to the server. If a new version of any of the terminal has been discovered, it will be automatically downloaded in the background mode.

If you are running an outdated version of the terminal it is recommended that you log off, shut down the terminal and reconnect to your account.

To check the version of MT4 you are currently running you can go to HELP and ABOUT inside the platform.
